In this Kashmir blog, we will delve into the charm of this enchanting valley and discover why it should be on everyone’s travel bucket list.

Dal Lake

One of the most iconic sights in Kashmir is the Dal Lake, a stunning body of water surrounded by majestic mountains and lush gardens. Take a shikara ride on the lake and immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere as you glide past floating markets and houseboats. Don’t forget to visit the floating gardens, where you can witness local farmers tending to their crops on the floating beds of soil – a truly unique experience!

Rich Culture and Heritage

Kashmir is known for its vibrant culture and rich heritage, which can be seen in its handicrafts, traditional music, and mouth-watering cuisine. Visit the bustling markets of Srinagar to shop for intricately woven carpets, embroidered shawls, and exquisite papier-mâché items. Don’t miss the opportunity to savor the delectable Kashmiri cuisine, which includes dishes like Rogan Josh, Yakhni, and Kashmiri Pulao – a true gastronomic delight!

Mughal Gardens

The Mughal Gardens of Kashmir are a testament to the grandeur of the Mughal Empire, with their perfectly manicured lawns, cascading fountains, and terraced flower beds. Visit the Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi gardens to marvel at their architectural beauty and serene ambiance. These gardens are the perfect place to unwind and soak in the beauty of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Embark on an Adventure in the Great Outdoors

For adventure enthusiasts, Kashmir offers a wide range of thrilling activities such as trekking, skiing, and river rafting. Head to the picturesque town of Gulmarg for a skiing experience like no other, with its powdery snow and panoramic views of the Himalayas. If you’re a nature lover, embark on a trek to the mesmerizing meadows of Pahalgam or go white-water rafting on the exhilarating rapids of the Lidder River – the possibilities are endless!

Best time to Visit

If you want to see snow, January and February are ideal times. If you want to see lush green views, September will be the best time. For a honeymoon trip, I will recommend April and September. If you want to see flowers and the Tulip Garden, you should plan for April.
The best time to visit in Jammu and Kashmir is from April to October. During this time, the weather is pleasant, and the valley is blooming with a variety of flowers. Summer is the peak tourist season in this state, and the temperature is mild and pleasant. July and August are the months for the annual Amarnath Yatra.
